Curating Products that Matter

We founded WEBO in 2002 withsa simple yet passionate idea: “To discover things we truly believe in, from all over the world—and deliver them to those who share our values.”

Back then, I was still a student aspiring to be a designer. But every time I imagined creating the ideal product, I would discover that something remarkably similar already existed—often hidden away in museums or buried in books, unknown to the people who might actually need it.

That realization sparked a desire: “To bring truly good objects to the hands of those who will use and cherish them.” That desire is the origin of WEBO.

Soon after, I was joined by kindred spirits who believed in the same idea. We rented a tiny space in a mixed-use building and filled it with handpicked items from around the world—spanning all kinds of genres. And so, the WEBO select shop was born.

It didn’t take long for word to spread. By the weekend, people from across the country were visiting our little store.

More than 20 years have passed since. Shopping habits have shifted online, and our shop has moved from a small upstairs room to a street-level storefront. But our desire to deliver genuinely good design remains unchanged, and we are still here today thanks to the support of so many.

本当に良いモノを届けたい

”自分たちが本当に良いと思えるモノを世界中から集め、共感してもらえる人のもとに届けたい”

私たちは、そんな想いで 2002年に生活用品のセレクトショップ WEBO（ウェボ）を開業しました。

その当時、私はデザイナーを志す大学生でした。しかし自分がデザインしたいと思う理想の製品は、調べてみると既に世界のどこかに存在しており、しかもそれが美術館や書籍の中だけにとどまっている実情に愕然としました。

この時に感じた「ほんとうに良いモノを、必要とする人のもとに届けたい」という強い想いが、私たちの原点です。

ほどなくして、私たちは雑居ビルの一画に小さなスペースを借り、そこに世界中から気に入った製品だけを集めて、あらゆるジャンルの製品を扱うセレクトショップ"WEBO"を開業しました。

この手作りのショップはすぐに話題となり、週末になると全国からお客様が足を運んで下さるようになりました。

それから20余年が経ち、お買い物の主流はオンラインへと変わり、雑居ビルではじめたショップは路面店になりました。それでも、「ほんとうに良いものを届けたい」という当時の想いは今も変わることなく、多くの方に支えられて現在に至っています。

手に入れたときの喜びや、使い心地の良さはもちろん、時を経ることで暮らしに寄り添い、10年後も、20年後も愛着をもって接することができるようなモノを、私たちは、ひとつひとつ丁寧にお届けしています。

We believe that understanding and empathizing with the philosophies behind such design not only deepens our appreciation, but also enriches the way we live.

「良質なデザイン」は求められる機能や目的を満たし、普遍的な美しさで年代や国を超えて私たちの生活に心地良く寄り添います。

そして、ある時は私たちの暮らしに新しい視座を与え、ときに既存の課題や社会の問題を解決する力にもなります。

そして、そんな作り手のデザイン哲学に対する理解や共感も、わたしたちの暮らしをより深く豊かなもにしてくれると考えています。

Historic Western-style stone buildings still remain throughout the city, where cultures from different countries and eras coexist in harmony.

From this unique setting near the harbor, we make the most of our location to efficiently deliver carefully selected products from around the world to our customers.

WEBOがショップを構える神戸は明治時代以前から続く世界有数の国際貿易都市です。

1868年にいち早く開国した経緯から、街中には石造りの歴史的な西洋建築が今も残り、様々な国と時代の文化が共存しています。
