About WEBO
Curating Products that Matter
WEBO was founded in 2002 with a simple but passionate idea: “To discover things we truly believe in from around the world — and deliver them to people who share our values.”
At that time, I was a design student aspiring to create ideal products of my own. But as I researched, I realized that many remarkable objects already existed somewhere in the world — often hidden in museums or buried in books, unknown to the people who might truly need them.
That realization sparked a desire: “To bring genuinely good objects into the hands of people who will appreciate and cherish them.” This desire is the origin of WEBO.
Soon after, others who shared this idea joined me. We rented a tiny space in a mixed-use building and filled it with carefully selected items from around the world — spanning many different genres. Thus, the WEBO select shop was born.
More than 20 years have passed since then. Thanks to the support of customers from all over Japan, we were able to move to a street-level store. Yet the passion and values we had at the time of our founding remain unchanged.
本当に良いモノを届けたい
”本当に良いモノを世界中から集めて、それに共感してもらえる方のもとに届けたい”
私たちは、そんな想いから2002年にインテリアのセレクトショップ WEBO（ウェボ）を立ち上げました。
当時、私はデザイナーを志す大学生でした。ところが自分が思い描いた理想の製品についてリサーチしてみると、実は既に世界のどこかには同様の製品が存在しており、しかもその多くが美術館や書籍の中にとどまっていることに愕然としました。
この時に感じた「ほんとうに良いデザインを、実際の暮らしの中に届けたい」という強い想いが、私たちの原点です。
ほどなくして、私たちは雑居ビルの一画に小さなスペースを借り、世界中から心惹かれる製品だけを集めたセレクトショップ"WEBO"を開業しました。このショップには日本全国から多くの皆様がご来店いただくようになり、現在は路面店へと移転しています。
それから20年以上が経ちましたが、創業当時の想いは今も変わることはありません。

私たちが本当にお届けしたいのは、何気ない日々の暮らしの中に、感動や悦びを感じさせてくれるような「お気に入り」の存在です。

お気に入りのモノを選びとることで、

そして手に入れたときの喜びや、使い心地の良さはもちろん、時を経ることで暮らしに寄り添い、10年後も、20年後も愛着をもって接することができるようなモノを、私たちは、ひとつひとつ丁寧にお届けしたいと考えています。

私たちは『デザイン』という言葉を大切にします。
デザインは単なる意匠（見た目）ではありません。本当に「良いデザイン」は、求められる機能と目的を満たし、普遍的な美しさで時代や国を超えて私たちに寄り添います。また、ある時は日常に新しい視点を与え、ときに課題を解決する力にもなります。
そして、モノの背景にある作り手の想いやデザイン哲学に触れることで、日々の暮らしはより深く豊かなものになるはずです。
